Last spring I visited La Conner, a tiny Washington community known for its colorful Tulip Festival. I arrived too soon for tulips. Instead, I was treated to fields blanketed in glittering gold. It was daffodil season. Such an amazing spectacle! The surrounding areas offered plenty of charm, from the majesty of Deception Pass to a rusted 1939 Buick looking for a home.
